Every year, we love seeing what wedding trends will emerge and incorporating them into our clients’ celebrations. This year, I’m excited for the forecasted colors and designs, especially now that it’s spring!

Consider 2023 the year of being bold! While I absolutely adore a good, classic wedding aesthetic (hello, that was me and I will always love it!), we’ve been seeing couples get a little more adventurous with their weddings and I. Am. Here. For. It! This year, patterns, textures, and statement colors will rule the venues. Continue reading to see what you can expect to see ..and maybe get a few ideas for your own big day!

Trending Colors

As for colors, we’re predicting that citrus tones will be very on trend this year.  Because Pantone named Viva Magenta Color of the Year, we know it will be everywhere. This versatile reddish hue can be used to add a subtle pop of color in your wedding (think: napkins, jewelry, wedding programs or menus, etc.) or it can be used to make a jaw-dropping statement (i.e. lighting, linens, flowers, bridesmaids dresses, custom dance floors, etc.). Pantone notes that this color is “brave and fearless,” which is right on brand for the adventurous couple. Bonus, Viva Magenta works in every season. Other colors we think will be popular this year are pinks, such as blush and peach, and greens, like emerald and olive. Who has already incorporated one (or more!) of these colors in your big day? 

Trending: Patterns and Textures

Another wedding trend we’re seeing brides, grooms, and clients embrace are patterns and textures. I’m a huge advocate for pattern play, so this makes my heart happy! What I really love about this trend is, you can style it to your personality. If you want to use a big, bold geometric design, there’s a pattern that will work for you. Conversely, if you want to use a texture in a more delicate way, you can absolutely do that, too. We just suggest picking one and going with that throughout your wedding. That way, everything has one, cohesive look. 

There are so many ways to add these gorgeous details to your wedding. For some more subtle ways, consider picking a pair of shoes that reflects your theme; selecting chargers that have a soft, neutral pattern; or showcasing your favorite texture on your glassware. If you want to go all out, think about using patterns or textures in all of your table linens; including textured florals in your centerpieces and arrangements; or selecting bridesmaids dresses/groomsmen suits that are adorned with your chosen pattern.
