Hi everyone!
It’s an exciting day over here at KBE HQ! I’m excited to announce we’re launching a new series called The Women of KBE. This series was created so you can get to know the ladies of K. Barner Events a little better. I’ll ask questions, we’ll tell stories… so laugh with us, reminisce with us, maybe even draw some inspiration from us. Think of it as your behind-the-scenes look at the fierce, innovative, and dynamic women who make up the team. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did chatting with the women about them. Let’s get started with our first question.
Q: What were your wedding colors – or what do you want them to be – and why did you choose them?
Kisha:
“My wedding colors were yellow and kiwi green. We chose that color palette because at the time, I was obsessed with yellow and green Cymbidium Orchids, so I took that as inspo and ran with it. It also wasn’t a wedding color combo that was very popular then and honestly, isn’t right now, so I liked the fact that it was different.”
Belinda:
“Like the DARK Garden of love. Not the most exotic flowers but the most rich and bright and vibrant and the space all RICH in black and gold. My boyfriend and I are just that. We love nature and the rich and boldness of colors and artistry within a rich, dark space. I don’t believe I’ve seen that combination and would love to bring it to life.”
Kaitlyn:
“My husband and I chose very classic colors – black, white, and gold. We wanted our wedding to feel timeless. We did add some color into the flowers with peach and dusty green hues. I will always love that classic look.”
Kim:
“When I started planning my wedding, I knew I wanted to use more greenery than flowers throughout my decor. So for my wedding colors, I decided to go with emerald green, ivory and gold. My venue had this amazing black and white tile floor in the ballroom where the reception was being held and I knew this color scheme would complement it perfectly!”
Megan:
“My colors were white, sage, orange and fuchsia. We chose those colors because we got married in Mexico, and we wanted a vibrant feel to match the destination.”
Samantha:
“Whites, cream/off white, tans – pretty neutral. I would also maybe throw some rose gold in there. Reason being is I want to do tons of candles, maybe some hanging greenery or white florals and really want all those elements to pop, versus having a bold color that stands out.”
Tomyka:
“When I got married, it was 2002 coming out of the era of the 90’s entering a new era. I was in love with periwinkle. My colors for my wedding were periwinkle and silver. But my, if or when I get married again, I would love to do navy blue and rose gold. I think those colors are elegant and work well together.”
So there you have it! Colors as different and unique as the team. I always love hearing the inspiration behind the choices, as many of us chose colors that were very personal to us. Any burning questions you want us to answer? Leave a comment or drop us a note!
